ESPN's Paul Finebaum Makes Prediction For Star QB's Transfer Destination

Paul Finebaum explains why Clemson will lose on First Take. He believes Big Ten football teams will compete for the College Football Playoff in 2017.

One of the top quarterbacks in college football has decided to transfer, as veteran starter Kelly Bryant has opted to leave Clemson following Dabo Swinney's decision to start true freshman Trevor Lawrence on Saturday against Syracuse.

ESPN college football analyst Paul Finebaum weighed in on Bryant's decision and where he might land during a TV appearance this morning.

Finebaum doesn't see Bryant landing with a high-level Power 5 team.

"I don't see Kelly Bryant landing with a large (Power 5) team. Jalen (Hurts) is the one every team is waiting on," Finebaum said.

Finebaum does believe that Swinney made the right decision.

“Dabo Swinney was fair to Kelly Bryant … he had the job and lost it,” Finebaum said this morning, per 247Sports. “That’s the way it goes. Dabo Swinney could’ve misled him and started him this week and handcuffed, but instead he gave him the truth which is not something a lot of coaches often do. I don’t think Clemson can win a national championship with Kelly Bryant.

"I’m not saying they can with Trevor Lawrence, but they have a chance.”

It's unclear when Bryant will be making a decision. Stay tuned.
