Kendall Milton, an elite recruit out of Clovis, Calif., is one of the top running backs in the 2020 class. 247Sports has the five-star prospect ranked No. 3 at the position in his class.
He’s the No. 21 overall recruit, and the fourth-ranked player in the talent-rich state.
Milton has his eye on the SEC though, as many top recruits from California do. He recently revealed some schools he plans to visit soon, and there is a heavy tilt towards that league, which has produced so many big-time running backs over the last few years.
Alabama, Georgia, and LSU all look like official visit spots for Kendall Milton, as does Ohio State out of the Big Ten.
LSU in particular sounds like a potential favorite here thus far. The Tigers will be getting a visit on June 7.
“I’ll be going to LSU (June 7),” Milton said. “The reason why I decided to visit them first is because when I was out for my unofficial, they had everything I was looking for and I had a great comfort level there. I immediately got a family feel about the school and love their history and tradition of producing and developing running backs that succeed in college and get to the NFL.
Milton said the fact he picked LSU for his first visit does mean something.
“Yeh, it means they’re in a good spot with me right now,” Milton said. “Like I said, I have a great vibe with them and it’s a great all around fit. I have Elias (Ricks) in my ear all the time and he’s like a brother to me so he’s a big part of it as well.”
Milton says he’s “pretty confident” that Georgia and Ohio State will get visits as well. He compared Georgia’s success in developing backs with LSU’s, and is buying into Ryan Day’s vision for the program at Ohio State.
On Alabama, Nick Saban is a huge factor, as you’d imagine:
“Yeh, Bama is likely to get one as well,” Milton said. “I visited there recently and really liked it a lot. They’re program speaks for itself and it was great sitting down and talking with coach Saban. I was really impressed with what he had to say and how they would like to develop me there so there’s a very good chance I’ll be back there.
Interestingly, the schools that had been identified as the top options for Milton, at least by the 247 crystal ball, are battling for the fifth visit as of now. Oklahoma has 62-percent of the predictions there, while USC has 15-percent. The Trojans are the most local program, and he says he’s been there a number of times. Texas and Oregon also get mentions as fifth visit options.
Milton says he is planning on a fall commitment, so fans of all these programs have some time to wait.
