The Texas A&M coach knows he has to win big this year.
Kevin Sumlin doesn't need to read any coaching hot seat lists heading into the 2017 season. He knows he's on them.
His athletic director basically placed him there, after all.
"Coach knows he has to win and he has to win this year," Texas A&M athletic director Scott Woodward told Paul Finebaum earlier this summer.
Sumlin, speaking at SEC Media Days this afternoon, said he knows what has to be accomplished this fall.
He doesn't want to let the pressure get to him, though.
"I'm not going to get into what those conversations were about, but, you know, like I said, for me, my job, nothing changes for me," Sumlin said. "And, you know, you've been around me a long time. Nobody puts more pressure on me than I put on myself and nobody wants to win more than I want to."
Texas A&M opens its season against UCLA.
