The SEC officially kicks off its 2020 college football season on Saturday, and ESPN's Kirk Herbstreit is already calling for one major upset. Herbstreit, one of the analysts on College GameDay, thinks No. 8 Auburn is in trouble against Kentucky.
Herbstreit believes that Auburn vs. Kentucky will be the "most physical" game on the college football slate for Saturday. He thinks that Kentucky, ranked No. 23 heading into the game, will score a top-10 win in its first game of the season.
A year ago, Auburn finished with a 9-3 regular season record that included a 48-45 win over rival Alabama. The Tigers lost to Minnesota in the Outback Bowl.
Kentucky, meanwhile, finished on a four-game winning streak to close out the 2019 campaign and finish 8-5.
Both teams have very, very difficult schedules this season. In addition to Kentucky, Auburn has No. 2 Alabama, No. 4 Georgia, No. 6 LSU, No. 10 Texas A&M and No. 16 Tennessee on its slate.
Kentucky is expected to start quarterback Terry Wilson for the contest. Auburn will start sophomore Bo Nix, who had a great freshman campaign with the Tigers.
