Kirk Herbstreit Was Very Critical Of Alabama QB Jalen Hurts On Saturday

Alabama's football program had its spring game on Saturday. It was a pretty rough afternoon for Jalen Hurts.

Hurts, whose father said he'll probably transfer if he doesn't win the starting quarterback job, did not look great leading the Crimson Tide's offense on Saturday. He struggled with completion percentage and threw an interception.

Alabama head coach Nick Saban was caught criticizing the quarterback via a hot mic. Saban appeared to be frustrated with Hurts' passing ability.

Saban wasn't the only one criticizing the quarterback. ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit voices some frustration during the broadcast.

“I don’t like his body language out here (today),” Herbstreit said after Hurts threw into bad coverage.

Herbstreit said Hurts was lucky that Alabama's other quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa, was not out there on Saturday. Tagovailoa had to sit out of the game with an injury.

"Especially after the way the national championship game ended," Herbstreit quipped. "He’s lucky No. 13 isn’t out there throwing darts, because then it would really look bad.”

Saban has yet to name a starting quarterback for the 2018 season. It'll come down to Hurts and Tagovailoa. At this point, it's looking like Tagovailoa is the favorite.
