The college football season kicked off on Tuesday this week with a matchup between Appalachian State and Arkansas State. On Thursday night, Week 7 continued with two games on the docket including a Big 12 showdown.
Now, Big 12 games usually produce points by the dozen, but last night’s game between Texas Tech and TCU was anything but usual. The over/under was set at 58 points entering the contest, but the two teams combined for just 31 points.
Texas Tech walked out with a 17-14 win after forcing three turnovers – including an interception to ice the game.
College football analyst Kirk Herbstreit was watching last night and was impressed with the Red Raiders’ performance. Here’s what Herbie had to say.
What an effort by @TTUKingsbury David Gibbs, and the @TexasTechFB program on reinventing themselves tonight offensively and playing lights out on defense. Huge win by the Red Raiders!! Congrats fellas!

Texas Tech moves to 4-2 on the season after the win. Since an opening-season loss to Ole Miss, the Red Raiders have put on a show, winning three of four games. The only loss came against the undefeated West Virginia Mountaineers – a 42-34 contest.
Kliff Kingsbury has Texas Tech looking right.
