Kirk Herbstreit Names 1-Loss Team In "Good Spot" To Make Playoff
Yet another week of college football brought heartbreak for yet another fan base.
Oregon, which had its eyes on a potential College Football Playoff berth, fell to Arizona State. The Ducks suffered their second loss of the season, which effectively eliminates them from playoff contention.
With Oregon's loss, three other programs have a legitimate shot at making the playoff. Alabama, Utah and Oklahoma all sit behind Georgia for the final spot in the playoff.
However, if Georgia loses to LSU, the Bulldogs will be out of the playoff race.
ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit thinks that leaves one program in a "good spot." He took to Twitter to suggest that if Utah wins the Pac-12 with just one loss, they could make the playoff.
Check it out.
The Utes only loss this season came on the road against a USC team that sits inside the top-20. Without star running back Zach Moss, Utah failed to find its offensive rhythm.
However, after an impressive close to the season, the Utes could find themselves in the playoff. If Alabama struggles against Auburn without Tua Tagovailoa, Utah could take the fourth and final spot.
The final week of the regular season and conference title games should be fun.
