Rivalry Week didn’t just generate a handful of exciting finishes, it also resulted in a few memorable individual performances. Kirk Herbstreit highlighted the top performers from this past weekend on Twitter.
Every week, Herbstreit reveals his top players of the week. He made an exception for the top spot on Rivalry Week as he split it between Justin Fields and J.K. Dobbins.
Honestly it’s hard to blame Herbstreit for putting them in the No. 1 spot. Fields and Dobbins combined for eight touchdowns against the Michigan Wolverines.
Coming in at second on Herbstreit’s list is Alabama wide receiver Jaylen Waddle, who also had four touchdowns during Rivalry Week. What made his performance so impressive was the fact that he only had four receptions.
Perhaps the most surprising name on this list is Lynn Bowden from Kentucky. Even though he’s really a wideout, the Wildcats converted him to quarterback toward the end of the season due to all the injuries piling up at the position.
Bowden had an incredible game against Louisville, torching its defense for 284 rushing yards and four touchdowns.
Here’s the full list from Herbstreit:
