The ESPN college football analyst compared the two on Twitter.
The Patriots are in the Super Bowl again. This pleases very few people outside of New England.
Unsurprisingly, most of the country was rooting for Jacksonville on Sunday. The Jaguars almost pulled it out, but New England rallied late in the fourth quarter.
Bill Belichick and Co. are set to face the Eagles in the Super Bowl in two weeks. They're going for their sixth world championship.
ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit took to Twitter following the win to compare the Patriots to a college football team. There's really only one team that makes sense.
It's Alabama. The Crimson Tide have won five of the last nine national championships, after all. Herbstreit says people hate the Patriots for the same reason why they hate Alabama.
"Same reason people hate Bama and Saban—Envy. I’m not a “fan” of either but an admirer of their achievements, consistency, and excellence! Incredible to watch," he wrote.
There's a college basketball program that fits that category, too. Duke.
It's tough to argue with that. It does get a little tiresome watching the same team win over and over, though.
New England and Philadelphia are set to play in the Super Bowl on Feb. 4. The game will be televised on NBC.
