The College Football Playoff committee released its new rankings on Tuesday night. Michigan fell out of the top four after a devastating loss to Ohio State, while Alabama, Clemson and Notre Dame retained their spots at the top of the rankings.
With Michigan's loss, the committee bumped Georgia up to No. 4. The Bulldogs now meet No. 1 Alabama in the SEC title game for a spot in the playoff.
Even with a loss, however, Kirk Herbstreit suggests Georgia could sneak into the playoff.
"If they play well, lose a close one, I would be a very strong advocate of saying that they still have an argument to be recognized as not the most deserving 4, but as one of the best 4," Herbstreit said before the rankings were released Tuesday night.
College football fans outside of the SEC wouldn't take kindly to Georgia making the playoff with a loss - especially Oklahoma and Ohio State fans.
