Here are the teams the ESPN analyst thinks will contend for the national title.
We're approaching the college football preseason. Spring football is over, summer is approaching and soon enough, fall camp will be starting.
ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit was asked today to name his College Football Playoff contenders.
Herbstreit named eight teams he thinks will contend for the national title.
Those eight teams: Florida State, Alabama, Penn State, USC, Ohio State, Clemson, LSU and Washington.
Herbstreit was then pressed by a fan about Wisconsin, and agreed that the Badgers could contend in the Big Ten and for a spot in the playoff.
According to ESPN's Football Power Index, the following four teams will be in the playoff:
- Ohio State
- Florida State
