Kirk Herbstreit Thinks Deshaun Watson Should Be Taken Before Mitchell Trubisky

Kirk Herbstreit talks during college game day.

Add Herbstreit to the list of analysts who think Deshaun Watson is better than Mitch Trubisky.

The Cleveland Browns hold the No. 1 and No. 12 picks in this year's NFL Draft. Reports surfaced linking Trubisky to the No. 1 overall pick before a separate report claimed the Browns have their No. 1 choice, and it's not Trubisky. Now, the team could still take Trubisky with the No. 12 pick, but we don't know if he'll last that long. Trubisky is the consensus No. 1 quarterback in the draft, at least according to most scouting circles.

ESPN's Kirk Herbstreit doesn't understand why Deshaun Watson isn't in the conversation. Herbstreit was a guest on TheFirst Team with Taylor Zarzour on Thursday morning and showed his confusion surrounding Trubisky as a better quarterback than Watson.

Here's what he said, per Tiger Net.

If you're just going by college football, I don't know why there is even a discussion about this. I can't tell you how many games I've called, whether they are National Championship games, ACC Championship games, high-profile Clemson-Florida St. games, Clemson-Notre Dame games, with all of the pressure in the world and how that kid delivered almost every single time with the game on the line. As far as making plays, Deshaun Watson to me is the no-brainer.

It looks like Herbstreit has more faith in Watson than most.
