Kirk Herbstreit: This Louisville Star WR Just Made A Big Mistake

Kirk Herbstreit thinks a team could be out of the playoff.

College football's Week 1 slate is highlighted by a couple of notable non-conference games. One of those games is the Alabama-Louisville contest set to take place in Orlando, Fla.

The Crimson Tide, the preseason No. 1 team in the country, will be big favorites in this one. The Cardinals lost Lamar Jackson and Nick Saban's teams typically dominate these Week 1 non-conference games.

Louisville is confident, though.

Cardinals' star wide receiver Dez Fitzpatrick had some bold statements at the team's media day over the weekend.

"Every receiver in our receiver core can honestly beat every one of their DB's in 1 on 1 coverage," he said.

"When we watch film and other players play Bama, it's not like Bama's beating them. It's like they're beating themselves because of the mystique of playing the Crimson Tide."

Oh boy.

Talking that boldly about a game against Alabama, usually, is not the best idea.

Kirk Herbstreit seems to agree.

Alabama and Louisville are set to kick off at 8 p.m. E.T. on Sept. 1.
