Horrific news being reported out of the state of Wisconsin.
Lakeland University freshman quarterback Kaelin O'Neal, who had been missing since Sunday, has been found dead in a pond on campus property, according to WTVD in Durham, N.C. O'Neal, 18, is a Wendell, N.C. native.
Multiples outlets have said the press release from local authorities said there were no signs of foul play.
O'Neal served as a backup quarterback for the Lakeland football team this fall, appearing in six games. He rushed six times for 35 yards and completed one of six passes for six yards and two interceptions.
“For a small institution like this, it’s a real tragedy,” university spokesman David Gallianetti told the Sheboygan Press. “We’re a tight-knit group here. For something like this to happen, it’s shocking.”
