Lane Kiffin's latest move on the college football recruiting trail is going viral on social media.
The head coach at FAU visited a local high school football player in the maternity ward of a hospital.
Kiffin wanted to be there for his recruit - who wasn't named - during one of the most-important times of his life.
The player's head coach, Lake Weir HS (FL) head coach Knox Robinson, shared the photo on social media.
"Love him or hate him @Lane_Kiffin came to the maternity ward to see one of his recruits who just had a baby and talked to him about real life stuff. Not football. Coach Kiffin is a genuine guy and we appreciated having him around today!" the head coach tweeted.
FAU is coming off of a disappointing 5-7 season. The Owls will open the 2019 season on a big stage, taking on Ohio State. That will be Ryan Day's first game as the full-time head coach of the Buckeyes' program.
Kiffin's 2019 recruiting class, meanwhile, ranks No. 79 in the country. The Owls have three early enrollees, six players who have signed their letters of intent and nine more hard commitments.
