Lee Corso Confirms ESPN's College GameDay Is Headed To Florida State-Alabama

It looks like ESPN College GameDay's first 2017 location has been confirmed.

College GameDay, ESPN's popular pre-game show, is headed for Atlanta on Labor Day Weekend for the opening showdown between Alabama and Florida State.

GameDay mainstay Lee Corso confirmed the news today during a radio interview on The Opening Kickoff on WNSP-FM 105.5 in Alabama.

"We're going to Alabama-Florida State," said Corso, via AL.com. "It's going to be that one because it is two excellent football teams. We're going to be starting the season going to a tremendous football game."

This news shouldn't come as much of a surprise. Sure, opening weekend is loaded with great matchups (West Virginia-Virginia Tech, Florida-Michigan and Texas A&M-UCLA come to mind), but this one clearly takes the cake.

The winner of 'Bama-FSU will have a marquee win under its belt in the quest for a College Football Playoff berth. The loser will have no margin of error moving forward.

There is a lot at stake, and GameDay will get you ready for it all on Sept. 2.
