The football coach has connections with elite programs and teams across the sport.
Dave Adolph, a legendary Ohio football coach who spent time in the high school, college and pro ranks, has passed away. He was 79.
The Mogadore, Ohio native played collegiately at Akron before going into coaching. He coached at Ohio State under Woody Hayes in the late 1970s, for the Cleveland Browns from 1979-84 and again from 1986-88, for several other NFL teams and, most recently, served on Ohio State and Michigan’s staffs.
Adolph was on the Buckeyes’ supplemental staff from 2008-13 and on Michigan’s staff from 2015-16.
At the Ohio State-Michigan game this past season, he served as an honorary captain for both teams.
We have lost one of the truly great ones. Coach Dave Adolph who brought joy to all he met and associated. “Do you love football?”
