Look: 1 School Is Trending For 5-Star Dylan Raiola
Dylan Raiola's recruitment is set to dominate college football headlines.
Per 247Sports, the Phoenix quarterback is the No. 1 prospect in the class of 2024. On3's Chad Simmons recently reported that Raiola canceled a visit to Georgia, but he's still planning to visit another school next month.
Simmons said Raiola plans to visit Nebraska on March 25. On the 247Sports' Football Recruiting podcast, Cooper Petagna discussed how landing the five-year recruit would alter the school's reputation.
"If Nebraska can find a way to secure Dylan Raiola, it completely changes the national perception of the program," Petagna said. "This could be a huge boost for Nebraska not only on the field but just in terms of being able to generate buzz and get back in that mainstream news cycle. I don't know if there is a better place for him to go and develop than Nebraska."
Two experts placed a Crystal Ball prediction on Raiola, who decommitted from Ohio State in December, to join the Cornhuskers. That'd be a major victory for Matt Rhule, who takes over a program that went 4-8 last season.
Rhule orchestrated quick turnarounds at Baylor and Temple before going to the NFL to coach the Carolina Panthers in 2020.
"Rhule knows how he wants to build this program," Petagna said. "I think he was the right fit for Nebraska for a multitude of reasons. "But the roster building was the one that was the most important to me."
Raiola told Adam Gorney of Rivals last month that Nebraska "wants to win right now, and they have the right pieces to do that."
