The No. 1 cornerback in the country announced a Christmas Day commitment.

Elias Ricks, a five-star defensive back out of Mater Dei (California), announced this afternoon his commitment to LSU.

The elite prospect chose the Tigers over USC and Ohio State, among other programs. He had scholarship offers from nearly every program in the country.

Ricks announced his commitment on Twitter.

"Just A Inspiration To My People... This Is For My Family," he announced.

Ricks is ranked the No. 9 overall recruit in the 2020 class, per 247Sports' Composite Rankings.

LSU's 2020 class now has eight commitments and is ranked the No. 2 class in the country.
