LSU kicker Colby Delahoussaye has some new cleats.
LSU kicker Colby Delahoussaye was in the car with Nebraska punter Sam Foltz and former Michigan State special teamer Mike Sadler when they crashed earlier this summer. The Tigers' kicker survived the wreck, which occurred in Wisconsin after a kicking camp, but Foltz and Sadler did not.
“All he remembers is that the fire was burning his leg and that woke him up,” Dwayne Delahoussaye, Colby’s father, told The Advocate. “He was knocked unconscious. The burning sensation revived him. That’s all he remembers. He doesn’t even know how he got out. He doesn’t know where he crawled out of.”
Delahoussaye, LSU's senior placekicker, is paying tribute to Foltz and Sadler with some custom cleats. He got their respective numbers and "SAMIKE" put on his white and gold LSU cleats.
The Louisiana native took to Twitter this afternoon to show them off.
"This is for my two boys, I got you guys always with me! This season is for y'all! Love and miss you two," he wrote.
Well done, Colby.
LSU is set to take on Auburn this Saturday at 6 p.m. E.T. The game is set to be televised on ESPN.
