Orgeron took over LSU in late September after Les Miles was fired. The Louisiana native has led the Tigers to a 5-2 record in his stint as head coach including wins over Arkansas and Ole Miss on top of the win at Texas A&M on Friday.

Tom Herman, Houston's head coach, has been linked to the LSU job most recently. Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher has been in the mix as well, but he has reportedly turned down the offer.
