LSU experienced a resurgent season with first-year head coach Brian Kelly. The Tigers will be looking for a similar return from another reported new hire.

According to On3Sports' Matt Zenitz, the Tigers are expected to add former head coach Bob Diaco to their staff as an analyst for the 2023 season.

Diaco has been a coach for over two decades, but is perhaps known for his time at UConn. Diaco coached the Huskies for three seasons from 2014-16, leading the team to the St. Petersburg Bowl in 2015. He would leave UConn after going 11-26 in his tenure.

Diaco has experience at major college programs. He worked as a defensive coordinator for Nebraska, Notre Dame and Cincinnati.

Diaco has also worked for several schools as a linebackers coach. He is currently the defensive line coach for the New Jersey Generals of the United States Football League.

Diaco played as a linebacker at Iowa in the mid-1980s, earning All-Big Ten honors while starting every game for the Hawkeyes as both a junior and a senior.

LSU's season ended on a high note with a huge 63-7 win over Purdue in the Citrus Bowl. The Tigers will also have quarterback Jayden Daniels back. They'll be looking to improve on their 10-4 season with Diaco as an analyst.
