LSU vs. Southern Mississippi preview:
No Les Miles, no problem for LSU. The Tigers are coming off of a huge 42-7 win over the Missouri Tigers and were supposed to play the Florida Gators last week before Hurricane Matthew postponed the contest. LSU has been solid so far this season, with tight losses coming against current No. 8 Wisconsin and No. 23 Auburn.
Southern Miss hasn't played anyone near LSU's caliber, but the Golden Eagles are in the midst of a successful season. Southern Miss started off the season with a huge win for the program, a 44-35 victory over Kentucky. However, the Golden Eagles dropped a stunner against Troy and suffered another setback against UTSA last week.
LSU and Southern Mississippi have played twice in history, splitting the contests.
LSU vs. Southern Mississippi prediction:
It just so happens they have to play LSU in Death Valley when the Tigers have something to prove. Head coach Ed Orgeron has his Tigers playing a new brand of football and it seems there is some new life and vitality in this LSU ball club that was missing earlier in the season.
Southern Miss has a decent team, but there don't hold a candle to LSU, and it will be evident on Saturday night.
