Cincinnati head coach Luke Fickell is a former football player in his own right, so it should come as no surprise that his son Landon is a player too.

Landon Fickell, an offensive lineman in the Class of 2021, took to Twitter on Friday to announce his commitment decision. Shocking very few people, Landon announced that he is staying local and joining the Cincinnati Bearcats.

"...I've found that there's no place like home," Landon wrote. "That said I am committing to the University of Cincinnati."

Landon Fickell also offered thanks to offensive line coach Ron Crook and defensive coordinator Marcus Freeman for recruiting him. Naturally, he gave a shout-out to his father and soon-to-be coach too.

Regardless of whether Landon Fickell simply want to play with his father or not, he's going to get some solid coaching with the Bearcats.

Luke Fickell is one of the rising stars in the Group of Five coaching ranks. He's gone 22-5 in his last two seasons, with bowl wins over Virginia Tech and Boston College too.

One more strong season could see him moved to the front of the line for a big-time coaching gig at a larger program.

If that happens, it will be interesting to see if Landon follows him there.
