The Kansas City Chiefs took a skill player at the end of the first round on Thursday night and Patrick Mahomes appears to be excited.
Kansas City, as the reigning Super Bowl champions, had the No. 32 overall pick in the first round on Thursday night. It was unclear heading into the first round who the Chiefs might be targeting, but some speculated that a wide receiver or running back could be taken.
LSU running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire was still on the board when the Chiefs' pick came up. Kansas City did not hesitate to select the star tailback.
Edwards-Helaire, one of the best running backs in college football in 2019, should provide even more firepower to an already scary offense in Kansas City.
It looks like Mahomes can't wait to play alongside the Chiefs' new running back.
Most Chiefs fans probably feel the same way, Patrick.
So, too, does former NFL running back and Heisman Trophy winner Reggie Bush.
What else can the Chiefs add to their offense at this point? Kansas City seems to have it all now.
The NFL Draft will continue with the second and third rounds taking place this evening on ESPN and the NFL Network.
