A major 2019 Ohio State football game has been moved up to a Friday night.

The Buckeyes, who will be led by first-year head coach Ryan Day next season, will be playing a major Big Ten game on a Friday evening.

Ohio State will be taking on Northwestern on Friday, Oct. 18 at Ryan Field in Evanston, Ill.

ESPN's Adam Rittenberg first reported the news.

"A rematch of the 2018 Big Ten championship game will take place on a Friday night next fall as Northwestern will host Ohio State on Friday, Oct. 18, at Ryan Field. Northwestern informed its season-ticket holders of the new date earlier today. This is the teams' first meeting in Evanston since 2013. The Big Ten is maintaining a limited Friday night schedule for league games, which also includes Penn State at Maryland next fall," he reports.

Ohio State blew Northwestern out in the Big Ten Championship Game earlier this month, taking down the Wildcats, 45-24.

An official announcement on the Ohio State-Northwestern Friday night game should be out soon.
