Meet Maria Taylor, Sam Ponder's Replacement On ESPN's College GameDay

Here's who will be replacing Sam Ponder on ESPN's pregame show.

ESPN has its replacement for Sam Ponder.

The Big Lead reported Sunday night that SEC Network's Maria Taylor will be fulfilling Ponder's role on College GameDay and Saturday Night Football. Ponder, a mainstay on GameDay for several years, is leaving to host ESPN's Sunday NFL Countdown.

Taylor has been with ESPN since 2013, working for the SEC Network since 2014.

She attended the University of Georgia, where she played basketball and volleyball. Taylor was an All-SEC volleyball player for three years.

The Big Lead also reports that Laura Rutledge will be taking over Taylor's roles on the SEC Network.

Per the source, Laura Rutledge (right in above photo), who joined SEC Network in 2014, will be the host of SEC Nation this season. Rutledge has been a reporter for SEC Nation, hosted the program SEC Now, and was the sideline reporter for the ESPN Thursday night college football broadcast team with Dave Flemming and Jesse Palmer last year.

Congrats to Maria and Laura.
