Mel Kiper Names 2 College Football QBs To Watch In 2019

Mel Kiper gives NFL Draft analysis on ESPN.

ESPN NFL Draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. has named two college football quarterbacks to watch for as the 2019 regular season begins this weekend.

Several notable college football quarterbacks changed teams this offseason, with multiple big transfers taking place.

Kiper has identified two transfer quarterbacks he's most excited to watch as the 2019 college football season begins.

The two quarterbacks: Jalen Hurts and Jacob Eason.

Hurts was one of the best quarterbacks in the country his freshman and sophomore seasons, leading Alabama to back-to-back national title games. He was replaced by Tua Tagovailoa against Georgia in the 2018 title game and spent last season as a backup.

Now, Hurts is at Oklahoma, looking to lead the Sooners to a College Football Playoff.

Kiper said he is interested in seeing how Hurts has developed as a passer since his time at Alabama. He'll be playing for an offensive genius in head coach Lincoln Riley.

Eason was arguably the biggest quarterback recruit in the country when he came to Georgia and played right away. Eason suffered an injury two seasons ago, though, and ended up losing his job to Jake Fromm.

The former five-star recruit transferred to Washington, where he's hoping to lead the Huskies back to the College Football Playoff.

Kiper said Eason should have one of the biggest arms in the country and he's looking forward to seeing if he can match the hype he had coming out of high school.

Hurts will be in action on Sunday night against Houston, while Eason will play on Saturday against Eastern Washington.
