Mel Kiper's mock draft is here.
It's that time of year again. The college football season is over, but we're not ready to give up on our love of the game and our favorite players.
So where do we turn? As our attention gets taken away from the field, Mock Draft season is upon us.
Our favorite (draft eligible) college football players have either announced their intentions to enter the NFL Draft, or return for another season. For those on their way to the League, mock drafts give us a glimpse into their possible destinations.
Although not always accurate, we love mock drafts anyway. Each and every year we look forward to this time of year when the draft process begins.
Mel Kiper Jr. likes this time of year as well. On Thursday, the longtime ESPN draft analyst released his first mock draft for the upcoming draft.
An interesting name sits atop the list, while other familiar names sit near the top of the first round. Kiper suggests the Browns will, in fact, draft a quarterback with the first overall pick.
But it's not Sam Darnold or Josh Rosen, the two most "NFL ready" quarterbacks in the draft, according to several draft experts. Kiper has Josh Allen going first overall.
It would be an interesting selection for the Browns, who would most likely get crushed for the pick. Although, they might get crushed no matter what due to their lack of success in the draft.
Three quarterbacks will be taken in the first five picks, with four being drafted in the first round altogether, according to Kiper. Baker Mayfield is headed to the Redskins in Kiper's mock draft, although some suggest he could go much earlier than that.
The 2018 draft takes place from April 26-28. Get ready for three more months of draft talk.
