Michael Thompson Jr. will attend one of these two schools.

Five programs made the final list for a top defensive tackle recruit in the summer. Now he's down to just two programs.

Michael Thompson Jr., a 4-star recruit from Missouri, took to Twitter to unveil his top two. Thompson is the No. 4 defensive tackle recruit in the 2018 class and the No. 2 player from the state of Missouri, according to 247Sports' Composite Rankings.

Alabama, LSU, Michigan, Missouri, and Ohio State made the final five. However, four elite programs were erased as Thompson trimmed his list down to two.

Alabama, LSU, Michigan, and Ohio State were all cut from the list. Missouri remained, and one program was added so the list stands at two.

Thompson added a College Football Playoff team from 2017 to the list. The Oklahoma Sooners are now in prime contention for a top recruit.

The star defensive tackle added the Sooners. Thompson recently visited Oklahoma on an official visit over the weekend.

Here's his post.

Missouri entered as the heavy favorite, according to 247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions. However, the Sooners have been closing the gap.

After a trip to the College Football Playoff, Oklahoma looks to add another top recruit. Will Thompson stay home, or travel south?
