Players from both the Wolverines and the Gamecocks had to be separated.

An Outback Bowl bowling event featuring players from both Michigan and South Carolina apparently got pretty heated this evening.

There was reportedly a bit of a skirmish between players from both teams after the bowling event. It reportedly did not get physical, but there was some serious verbal jabbing and players had to be separated. The Florida Highway Patrol had to get in between the two teams.

Videos of the skirmish have been tweeted out by some of the beat reporters covering the event.

South Carolina reportedly won the bowling event in exciting fashion.

The event took place at Splitsville in Downtown Tampa.

Michigan and South Carolina are set to kick off at noon on New Year's Day. The game will be televised on ESPN2.
