Michigan State has struggled on offense against Michigan on Saturday afternoon, and very late in the contest, it looks like the Spartans have made a quarterback change. Rocky Lombardi is in for starter Brian Lewerke.

Lewerke, a junior signal-caller, had trouble getting anything going against the Wolverines' staunch defense all day. His stats were ugly, to say the least. On the day, Lewerke was 5-of-25 for just 66 yards. He also rushed for -11 yards.

Michigan quarterback Shea Patterson, on the other hand, is 14-of-25 for 212 yards with two touchdowns.

Rocky Lombardi, a freshman, is now in the game. He was inserted with just a few minutes left in regulation.

It remains to be seen whether Lewerke's benching is permanent or just for the rest of this game.

Michigan currently leads Michigan State 21-7 with just over two minutes to play.

With a win, Michigan would move to 7-1 and stay in the driver's seat in the Big Ten East. The Ohio State contest could be a huge one.
