Mike Riley On Tommy Armstrong's Status For Saturday

Will Tommy Armstrong play on Saturday?

Mike Riley said today that he's not sure if Tommy Armstrong Jr. will play against Maryland on Saturday.

Armstrong injured his ankle and hamstring in Nebraska's win against Minnesota this past weekend, a week after sustaining a concussion in the loss at Ohio State.

From ESPN:

Nebraska coach Mike Riley says he does not expect to know about the availability of QB Tommy Armstrong Jr. for Saturday against Maryland until late this week. Armstrong is dealing with ankle and hamstring injuries suffered late in the Cornhuskers' win last week over Minnesota. Backups Ryker Fyfe and Zack Darlington will take the snaps in practice early this week.

Armstrong said after the game against Minnesota that he thought he would be fine.

Nebraska and Maryland are set to kick off at noon on Saturday. The game will be televised on ESPNNews. The Huskers can win the Big Ten West if they win out and Wisconsin loses one of its remaining two games.
