Mike Tirico Will Call Notre Dame's First 3 Home Games

Mike Tirico with Jon Gruden on Monday Night Football.

ESPN.

Mike Tirico will be the voice of Notre Dame football for three games this season.

The NBC sportscaster will be calling the Fighting Irish's first three home games of the 2016 season (Nevada, Michigan State and Duke) while Dan Hicks is out on assignment.

The schedule for those three games:

  • Sept. 10 vs. Nevada, 3:30 p.m. E.T. on NBC
  • Sept. 17 vs. Michigan State, 7:30 p.m. E.T. on NBC
  • Sept. 24 vs. Duke, 3:30 p.m. E.T. on NBC

Tirico left ESPN for NBC earlier this year. It was presumed by many that Tirico would be calling NBC's Thursday Night Football NFL games, but that won't be happening, as the league mandated that the Sunday Night Football crew (Al Michaels and Cris Collinsworth) also calls TNF.

Notre Dame opens its season Sunday against Texas. That game will be televised on ABC at 7:30 p.m. E.T.
