Miller Moss is one of the top quarterback recruits of the 2021 class. The Mission Hills, Calif. standout has already clinched a spot in the Elite 11 finals, after a strong performance in the Los Angeles Regional event over the weekend.
Moss, who stars at Bishop Alemany, is the No. 50 overall recruit in the class, per 247Sports’ composite ranking. He’s ranked No. 5 among pro-style quarterbacks and No. 6 in California.
Moss hinted that a college decision could come over the weekend, in honor of his mother’s birthday. He told 247Sports that those plans “were never really serious.” He says that he isn’t super close to a decision, but wants to make one before the end of the school year. We do have an idea of the programs he’s considering now.
The four major Pac-12 schools in his home state are all involved. He’s taken a number of trips up to Cal, and is planning to check out UCLA. He also wants to see Stanford and USC, though it may not happen soon, amid concerns surrounding coronavirus. It is the two SEC schools involved that are the most intriguing.
This is the top uncommitted QB out West and maybe nationally in @millermoss7, who has programs like @LSUfootball @AlabamaFTBL @USC_FB @UCLAFootball and others hot on his trail pic.twitter.com/7ZPzIFy1kR

SEC West powers Alabama and LSU are both after Miller Moss. He took a trip to Tuscaloosa last summer, and Alabama has an opening at quarterback after Drake Maye’s decommitment. LSU is obviously an attractive destination, having just won the national championship behind Joe Burrow’s incredible emergence as the nation’s best quarterback.
LSU and Alabama are a couple of schools that Moss said he would like to visit. He already visited Alabama last summer and the Tide offered on the trip. They recently lost a commitment from quarterback Drake Maye and wasted no time reaching back out.
“Both schools have great programs and you have to give them a look,” Moss said. “I’m not sure if those will be official or unofficial visits, I don’t have anything locked in right now but they’re really intriguing options because of the success of their teams and how great the coaching staffs are.”
The early 247 crystal ball predictions don’t reveal much. Two predictions are undecided, two have him heading to Cal, and one has Michigan, which has offered.
If a decision is coming in the next few months, it seems like the six schools above are most likely. Of course, if his visits are canceled or postponed due to the virus, we could obviously see him wait longer. The Early Signing Period isn’t until December, while National Signing Day is early February 2021.
