Mississippi State is a potential upset pick against No. 7 Auburn this evening, though the Bulldogs are going to be short-handed against the Tigers.

The Bulldogs have announced several suspensions for this evening's game at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

The following Mississippi State players are suspended:

  • DT Lee Autry
  • LB Willie Gay
  • WR Devonta Jason
  • OL Kwatrivous Johnson
  • S Marcus Murphy

247Sports had some details on the suspensions:

The quartet of Gay, Jason, Murphy and Autry all played against Kentucky last week with Gay making the biggest impact. The junior linebacker had an interception on his first play in the game in the opening quarter and ran it back for a touchdown. He also had a tackle for loss in the game before being ejected in the first half for two unsportsmanlike penalties. That was the first game played this season for Gay, Jason and Murphy.

Autry has already played against both Southern Miss and Kentucky but he’s sitting for his third game. 10 players were suspended by the NCAA for eight games for academic misconduct prior to the season. While none of the players have been listed by the University due to FERPA laws, the previously five mentioned are the only players that the school has listed as suspended for multiple games this year so far.

Mississippi State and Auburn are set to kick off at 7 p.m. E.T.

The game will be on ESPN.
