Montana DL Andrew Harris Found Dead In Apparent Suicide

A University of Montana football player was found dead in his Missoula home on Tuesday according to a report from the Montana Standard. According to the report, police believe his death to be a suicide.

Harris was just 22 years old. His death was confirmed by the Missoula County Sheriff's Office and Missoula Police Sgt. Travis Welsh said the police are investigating the scene as a suicide.

The University of Montana released a statement following Harris' death.

The University of Montana is deeply saddened to learn of the loss of one its students, Andrew Harris. Harris was a senior majoring in business management from Kalispell, Mont. He graduated in 2015 from Glacier High School and was a member of the Grizzly football team.

His father, Greg and brother Josh, both played football for Montana as well.

Montana President Seth Bodnar released a statement about Harris' passing as well.

"We extend our deepest sympathies to Andrew’s family and friends at this difficult time. The entire UM family mourns his loss and our hearts go out to all who knew him," Bodnar said in a statement.

Harris played in eight games for the Griz this season.
