Navy vs. Notre Dame preview:
Navy is coming off a tough 52-45 loss to USF last week after winning two in a row, one against No. 6 ranked Houston. The Middies gave up 629 total yards in the contest, and giving up that many yards is never going to get it done. Still, it was only their second loss of a the year and even with their worst defensive performance they only lost by a single score. The triple option has been extremely effective this year and allows the Midshipmen to control the clock.
Notre Dame snapped a two-game skid with a 30-27 win over Miami Saturday. At one point they were up by 20, only to see that lead shrink to nothing. It came down to a last-second game-winning field goal by the Irish. Can Notre Dame string together back-to-back wins? They haven’t managed to do it all year. This will be an opportunity to salvage a very forgettable 2016 season.
Navy vs. Notre Dame prediction:
Navy steals this one. Notre Dame has some momentum, but Navy has been the more consistent team this year, and the Midshipmen always bring their best game to the Irish. With sub-par defenses for both teams, I expect a lot of scoring, and in the end Navy gets the victory.
