Everyone wants to see Scott Frost.
Last week, we wrote a post titled "Nebraska's Spring Game Could Be The Most-Attended In The Country." It looks like we're going to be right.
Today, Nebraska started its pre-sale for its spring game. It went very well.
As of 5:30 p.m. E.T., the Huskers had already sold nearly 60,000 tickets to its glorified scrimmage. The exact number: 57,342.
That's a ridiculous number. Several major programs will be lucky to get 2/3 that number come spring game time.
Here are the most-attended spring games of all-time. Nebraska's should come close to these numbers:
2016 | Ohio State | 100,189 |
2015 | Ohio State | 99,391 |
2009 | Ohio State | 95,722 |
2016 | Georgia | 93,000 |
2011 | Alabama | 92,310 |
2007 | Alabama | 92,138 |
2010 | Alabama | 91,312 |
Nebraska's Memorial Stadium has a capacity of about 90,000. It's possible that the Huskers could approach a 90,000 attendance number for the spring game - and maybe surpass it - for Scott Frost's debut.
These 57,342 tickets were only sold to season-ticket holders. Tickets to the public will be made available tomorrow.
The spring game is set to take place on Saturday, April 21.
