Maurice Washington has been arguably Nebraska's best player at Illinois this evening, though it appears that the Huskers will be without him going forward.

The star Nebraska running back suffered a leg injury in the second quarter of tonight's game. Washington had rushed for 89 yards on 10 carries.

Nebraska could certainly use him in the second half, with the Huskers trailing the Illini, 28-21, midway through the third quarter.

Washington took to Twitter in the second half to weigh in on the game:

"The only thing that hurts is me not being able to cheer my teammates on," he wrote.

Scott Frost might not like one of his players tweeting during the middle of a game, though it's hard to argue with that message.

Nebraska and Illinois are playing on BTN.
