Nebraska Takes Delay Of Game On 1st Punt Of Season To Honor Sam Foltz
Nebraska only had 10 players on the field for its first punt of the season.
This was intentional.
Nebraska intentionally did not send out a punter at the end of their first series, honoring former Huskers' punter Sam Foltz, who passed away in a car crash this summer. The Huskers took a delay of game penalty.
It's a tremendous gesture.
Nebraska is also honoring Foltz, who died in a car crash with former Michigan State special teamer Mike Sadler, with a helmet sticker. They're keeping his locker in-tact, too.
Well done, Nebraska football.
