LaDainian Tomlinson heaped praise on a former Oklahoma running back.
It's been a few weeks since the NFL Draft went down, and the draftees are getting adjusted to their new cities and their new teams. Among the 253 players drafted in the 2017 NFL Draft, 30 running backs were drafted over the seven rounds.
Among those taken in the draft were two Oklahoma running backs, Joe Mixon and Samaje Perine. Mixon was taken in the second round by the Cincinnati Bengals, while Perine was drafted by the Washington Redskins in the fourth round. So, which Oklahoma running back will have the most success next year?
Well, according to former NFL star LaDainian Tomlinson thinks Perine is primed to be a top-5 running back next year -- and no, that's not just limited to rookie running backs.
The Redskins already have a potent air attack, but with a sustained ground game, Washington would be a threat in the NFC. Perine should get the opportunity to thrive, as the Redskins have not fielded a competent running back since Matt Jones during his rookie season.
With Jones struggling in recent seasons, Perine will fight for the starting role, and should be a great addition to the offense.
