NFL Scouts Think Saquon Barkley Could Be "Best Running Back Of The Last Decade"

One Big Ten running back could be the best of the last ten years.

NFL scouts have been raving about one running back in college football above all others. Penn State's Saquon Barkley is a projected top-five pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, but scouts think he might be even better than some recent college stars that have been drafted.

Ezekiel Elliott and Leonard Fournette were both taken No. 4 overall -- Elliott in 2016 and Fournette in 2017. Barkley might do them one better next year.

The hype for Barkley is real. Bleacher Report's Matt Miller spoke to NFL scouts and general managers about the Nittany Lions' star.

When asking NFL scouts and general managers for an early look at next year's class, one high-level executive summed up what many are feeling about Penn State's Saquon Barkley: He has the potential to be the best running back of the last decade. Even better than Leonard Fournette or Ezekiel Elliott.

Elliott set the NFL ablaze last season, leading the NFL in rushing yards as a rookie. Barkley has lofty expectations to live up to during the 2017 season.
