Ohio State Releases Official Injury Update On DE Nick Bosa

ohio state issues injury update on nick bosa

Ohio State star defensive lineman Nick Bosa left tonight's game against TCU with an apparent lower-body injury. Here's the latest on the injury suffered by the Buckeyes' star pass rusher.

Bosa left tonight's game early in the second half, limping into the locker room with some Ohio State trainers. He later returned to the field in street clothes.

The former five-star recruit will not be returning to the game.

ESPN sideline reporter Maria Taylor just provided a new injury update on Bosa, courtesy of Ohio State. It doesn't appear to be a groin injury like many originally speculated.

The official word on Bosa's injury is that it's a "lower abdomen strain." Taylor added that Bosa looked frustrated on the sideline, but he appeared to be telling his teammates that he was going to be OK. Several of the Buckeyes' players approached Bosa while he was sitting on the bench, attempting to console him.

Bosa, the potential No. 1 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, would be a major loss for Ohio State if he's out for multiple weeks. The star defensive lineman has been, arguably, the most-dominant player in the country so far this season. There's even been some talk about Bosa contending for the Heisman Trophy.

Now, all of the talk surrounding Bosa will be about his injury status moving forward. How long is he going to be out for?

Ohio State is now in control of its game against TCU, and the Buckeyes have Tulane at home next weekend. OSU travels to State College, Pa. to take on Penn State in two weeks, though. That's the game Ohio State will potentially need Bosa back for.

Stay tuned for more updates about the injury to Bosa and his status moving forward. Ohio State interim coach Ryan Day will likely have more after the game.
