North Carolina four-star quarterback Logan Byrd has reportedly requested his release from the Tar Heels and it's been granted.

Rivals.com's Woody Womack first reported the news.

Byrd, a 6-foot-3, 230-pound pro-style QB, was ranked the No. 12 QB in the 2016 class by Rivals.com.

He chose UNC over Arkansas, Duke, Illinois, Louisville and Virginia Tech, among other programs.

It's unclear where he might be headed.
