It was a day full of upsets in the Big Ten. So, it’s fitting that a major one would go down at night, too.
The league, which has already suffered losses today to Troy, USF, BYU, Kansas and Temple, can add Akron to that list.
Northwestern, a 21-point favorite, fell at home to Akron this evening. The Wildcats lost, 39-34. Akron outscored Northwestern 13-6 in the fourth quarter.
It’s Akron’s first win over a Big Ten team in more than a century. Seriously.

At least Ohio State, Penn State and Michigan looked good today. The Big Ten is going to need to pick things up in a major way moving forward.
