One of Notre Dame's top players has discussed his draft status.
Notre Dame redshirt junior linebacker Drue Tranquill appears ready to test the NFL waters.
Tranquill was Notre Dame's third-leading tackler this season, compiling 74 total stops while leading the team in fumble recoveries with three. He has one more year of eligibility remaining because he missed most of the 2015 season with a torn ACL.
However, Tranquill has not ruled entering the NFL Draft. He told reporters today he will solicit feedback from the NFL committee that gives underclassmen draft advice, but that he won't sit out the team's upcoming bowl game.
If Tranquill returns to school, it would be a major boost to the Notre Dame defense for 2018.
The Fighting Irish will play LSU in the Citrus Bowl on Jan. 1.
