Notre Dame will make its first ever appearance in the College Football Playoff later this month when it takes on Clemson in the Cotton Bowl. The Irish will be the visiting team for that game.

Notre Dame has been teasing its uniforms for the game over the past few weeks. Yesterday, the program revealed the jersey tops it will wear against the Tigers.

Today, the Irish went into deeper detail on the gloves. There is more going on with them than you might expect.

Notre Dame's game day gloves are green and black with gold trim, and each color has its own significance. Green is for "tradition" and black is for "grip."

Gold, meanwhile, is for "the championship rush."

Notre Dame will likely continue to roll out some more teases of its Cotton Bowl uniform in the coming days.

The game itself will be played on Saturday, December 29. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. ET on ESPN.
