Notre Dame vs. Vanderbilt pits the Fighting Irish against an SEC team that could really use a big win like this.

Most of the college football world's attention was being paid elsewhere, but Brian Kelly's team didn't exactly follow up its big win over Michigan in the most impressive fashion. Notre Dame edged by Ball State 24-16.

Vanderbilt has looked solid against Middle Tennessee State and Nevada, but Notre Dame is obviously at a different level in terms of talent.

ESPN's FPI prediction for Notre Dame vs. Vanderbilt is out.

Notre Dame has a pretty heavy edge here. FPI gives the Fighting Irish an 88.8-percent chance to win.
