Ryan Day is a very good head football coach. Heck, he's maybe even great.

The Ohio State head coach has a winning percentage close to 90 percent. He recruits at an elite level each season. He's helped develop some truly great NFL talent.

Since taking over the Ohio State program, he's 56-7. That's an incredible record and one that pretty much every program in the country would be happy with.

The problem: those seven losses have come in some of the biggest games of the season.

One Ohio State fan summed things up best on social media on Saturday afternoon.

"Ryan Day is 56-7, but the losses were the only 7 games I give a shit about," Kevin Harrish tweeted.

Another fan responded: "Those 7 wouldn’t have mattered as much if it weren’t for those 56. Wouldn’t have even gotten to 3 of those 7."

That's fair, but Ohio State has high standards and arguably the highest floor of any program in the country. Ryan Day didn't make Ohio State; Ohio State made Ryan Day.

Could Ohio State do worse than Day? Of course they could?

But could the Buckeyes do better? That's possible, too.

Ohio State won't be firing Ryan Day, but it's understandable for Buckeyes fans to be upset, too.
